Labor Day Weekend Sales – Tips for Great Savings
With the Summer of 2014 racing to an end this coming weekend, many retailers are slashing prices off high ticket items as Labor Day Weekend approaches. Typically, Labor Day sales extend past the weekend and are among the top 3 savings holidays on our calendar. This year is no exception either, you just need to know where to look.
1. Retail
- In the retail space, stores like Abercrombie & Fitch are offering 40% off of everything storewide. This also applies to website purchases
- The Banana Republic is also offering 40% off of entire purchases made online. We are hearing you may need a coupon code so try BRGET40 at checkout
- Ann Taylor & American Eagle have great deals going on this week to the tune of 50% off. Check their websites for additional savings this week
2. Automobiles
- The fall time is when car & truck manufacturers pave the way for the new model year. The good news for those in the market for a new car is they have to make room on the lots and usually offer great incentives to get rid of the current model year vehicles
- Ford & Chevrolet are both offering 0% financing for up to 72 months which is a great deal
- Jeep is offering $1,000 in bonus cash through the holiday weekend. They also have up to $2,500 cash allowance on select models. There is also a 0% finance option available on select models up to 36 months
3. Home Improvement
- Lowes is leading the way with up to 20% off storewide. Like car dealerships, they are making room for the newer model appliances
- Labor Day Weekend is a great weekend to change your style and take advantage of sales on paint. With the extra day and all, you should have plenty of time to shift gears and brighten up your apartment
- End of season sales for outdoor furniture and storage are in full swing now. You can score big on patio or balcony tables and chairs this weekend
4. Walmart
- Walmart has slashed prices on many products in most departments of the store. Online savings can be had also. There are too many to list so head on over to the local store or visit their website
5. Mattresses
- One of the best times of the year to shop for a new mattress is Labor Day Weekend. Deals including up to 60% off on some mattresses are out there.
- Sleepys is leading the way with 50% off store wide. This is a deal that is hard to beat
6. Hotels
If you are looking to end your summer in style and away from home, you may be able to score some solid deals on hotels this Labor Day. Many hotels are looking to lure in travelers and tourists and offering great incentives. Check online outlets like hotels.com for up to 30% off with additional savings available. Orbitz is going a step further and offering 50% off with additional savings available.
